Double cheers to Double Midnight Comics in Manchester, NH yesterday for hosting “Captain America Day” in celebration of the comic character’s 70th anniversary. The event was conducted to help raise funds for the Wounded Warrior Project, a group who aids wounded service men and women. For every person who participated, $2 was donated to the WWP.
Owners Brett Parker and brothers Chris and Scott Proulx were looking for a way to toast Captain America as well as pay tribute to military personnel serving in combat. “When we were out here celebrating a fictional hero, we wanted to honor our real heroes,” said Chris Proulx. His father served a year in Iraq, and he has other family members and friends who have served overseas as well.
