How Writing One eBook Changed My Life Completely, Part V by Nicole Ocean

So through out the almost 1 1/2 years that my company has been in business I have benefitted greatly and not only on a financially level, but also as a person, a woman and as a successful small business owner (finally, one of my dreams has come true)

Here is a picture of another one of my dreams that I was able to enjoy because of the fruits of my persistence and hard labor.

It has been wonderful to see the transformation of my company, in myself as a person and all of the features that I have helped create within my website and within my products. Most of all, I can’t get over the fact that I had created and given people an opportunity to learn how to stay in real estate when the market was down or they were in between sales. I have on more than one occasion being on the telephone with a past customer crying because they tell me how my eBook has touched their life personally. This makes all of my struggle, my time, energy and effort into making my material available to other’s all the more worthwhile. I love hearing those stories and I cherish every one of them very much!

When it comes down to is, I simply love the fact that the people who find out about by doing this hidden niche within real estate that they not only get to specialize in an area that not many people know how to do, but they get to also learn so much in the process that only helps you be a better real estate agent, not to mention a better person within the whole process.

I think I have one of the coolest careers on the face of the planet and in the process I get to help affect other people’s life in such a positive way. Who could ask for more?

(I may write more about this topic later, I may not. I want to thank you for reading through it and I hope it gave you some inspiration and insight into how you too can make your dreams come true if you are persistent, work super hard to achieve your goals and don’t give up….ever!!!)

How Writing One eBook Changed My Life Completely, Part IV by Nicole Ocean

I left off where my website received a much needed facelift. I gave it one and then some! Plus, I decided to start a FREE blog where people in the BPO and REO business could communicate with each other, ask questions, post blogs on their personal experiences and more.

For the first few months my blog started to get more and more members, as well as various new topics kept on appearing every few days.  While today, I have built up the blog to having over 900 members and over 120 different topics discussed. This blog is such a blessing in disguise because it helped me stand out from my competitors as a selling point. Plus, I decided long ago to not let any adverstisements be run or placed anywhere on my website or within my blog space.

Within this whole time I also had been selling my first eBook on eBay and quickly grew to possessing a coveted status of being a “Powerseller.” What this means is that I had to have an almost 100% positive feedback that my past customers left about how it was to do business with me as well as reach minimum monthly sales goals. I have been able to keep this status for over 1 year and hope to continue to be able to do this also.

On top of all of this I also wrote 3 more eBooks. Two of them were just the list of 60 and a list of 120 companies that was inside my BPO Manual. I created these eBooks for people that already had an intermediate level understanding into the BPO business, but at the same time they wanted to grow their business. I sold the lists for $9.99 for the list of 60 companies and $19.99 for the list of 120 companies. I haven’t increased or decreased my prices and have been able to ride out a stream of people who tried to “Copy-cat,” my material and sell it as their own. This is a whole different story that I’ll write about another time.

How Writing One eBook Changed My Life Completely, Part III by Nicole Ocean

So there I was trying to market my eBook using a simple web template that Godaddy.com provided through their, “Website Tonight,” line of products. I also upgraded my website quickly with a shopping cart that was secure so that people could place their orders through my online shopping cart and receive an automatic digital delivery of their purchase instantly after making a payment through Paypal.

At that time, I only accepted and knew how to accept payment by using Paypal. I quickly saw that there would be potential to make more money if I offer more ways for people to pay and thus I hooked up with a great company called, “Authorize.net.” Right after I started excepting more ways for my customers to pay my sales doubled and tripled month by month.

I was so excited with each new change and upgrade that  I made to my website. I decided that my whole website needed to be scraped and replaced. I purchased another all-on-one template that was html based and compatible with Frontpage. This way I could all of the work while learning in the process everything I needed to know to be grow my business, look more professional and overal be as successful as possible.

Below is a glimpse of the template that I choose and how it looks today after many, many hours of tweaking!

How Writing One eBook Changed My Life Completely, Part II by Nicole Ocean

After being in the BPO business for less than 1 year doing BPO’s full time and real estate sales part-time, I knew that I had to write an eBook about BPO’s to help give other people in the business the same amazing, life changing opportunities that I had experienced. So, I started the project of writing my very first eBook.

I quickly learned all I needed to know about what an eBook was, how to create it and where to sell it. I also knew that I was a strong researcher and had a pretty good ability with putting together a resource guide that was straight to the point, put together well so that people could understand it easily and one that gave them the tools they needed to pursue doing the same things I did to be successful.

I put together my first draft that spanned and covered all of the details that someone would need to know to be successful in the BPO business. also intergrated a list of 120 BPO, Real Estate Owned and Asset Management companies. I had my work cut out for me, because I didn’t know exactly what I was getting myself into, but I did know that I had the ability to pull off putting together an amazing resource that would help other people as much as it has helped me.

Within a few weeks of compiling information, writing, editing and rewriting I put the 1st version of my BPO Manual up for sale.

When I first got started with my company, nicolesdreams eBooks I signed up with Godaddy.com and use one of their ready-made website templates. All I had to do with get in and change pictures, words and colors. It was pretty simple. I think that it really helped me by coming from a background of using Frontpage and creating basic websites. Little did I know back when I first got started making websites how far this skill would take me.

How Writing One eBook Changed My Life Completely, Part I by Nicole Ocean

This will be a short series of how I was able to change my life completely by simply writing one eBook.

Here is a screenshot of my Bestselling eBook titled, “All You Ever Wanted to Know About Broker Price Opinions.” You can click on the image to see a bigger, close-up version of the eBook.

As I mentioned before I am a Realtor in Bellingham, Washington that does something different than most real estate professionals. I complete “Mini-CMA’s,” for various companies. I am an independant contractor for over 30 companies doing “Broker Price Opinion,” (BPO) reports.

I learned about the business when a broker in California sent out a direct marketing email to me about the business. She called them, “Mini CMA’s,” and didn’t give a lot of helpful information, but was marketing her own products to help introduce you into the business.

At this point in my real estate career I didn’t have a lot of customers, I was brand new to the business and thus was pondering how I was going to be able to stay in real estate. while at the same time I wasn’t closing many deals or selling many houses my first year.

After doing hours and hours of research I decided that I wanted to get into this special, hidden industry within real estate. I just needed to learn more about it. I found that this information was very guarded and that many people that were already in the business didn’t want to share their, “Top-Secret,” inside info. I continued to hunt and peck around different internet sites, forums and blogs until I was able to get a good foundation into what I needed to do to get started in the business.
